Autism Eastern Cape relies on donations and volunteers and so fundraising events like Casual Day are extremely important.
Furthermore, we no longer have an office assistant so all these activities are undertaken by volunteers in their own time.
So it was quite a thrill to see Autism Eastern Cape was one of the top 10 Casual Day beneficiaries in 2018.
This was due in no small part to the hard work of our teacher Nolene Thompson who co-ordinated the drive. She was assisted by committee members Rebecca Williams and Natalie Wilmot, and chairlady Joan Jorritsma.
Thank you to everyone who helped by selling or buying stickers – it all adds up!
This year Casual Day’s theme is “Time to Shine with Persons with Disabilities” and it will be celebrated on Friday 6 September.
