Help us clean-up Pollok Beach
Autism Eastern Cape is doing something different for our June youth activity and will be helping to the Wildlife Society (Wessa), Sanccob and the Sustainable Seas Trust (SST) with its PE beach clean-up on Saturday June 8 to mark World Oceans Day.
If the weather is suitable we also hope to have a picnic on the beach after the clean-up.
Sensory issues: the clean-up has involves picking up plastic rubbish like cool drink bottles, chip packets, styrofoam containers etc and the Wildlife Society will provide a pair of latex gloves. However, you are welcome to bring your own thicker gloves, eg gardening gloves.
Plastic bags to collect the rubbish will also be provided. Although it is a beach clean up, there are non-sandy areas which also need cleaned so you may not need to walk on the sand.
